SUNNY MORNING , STORMY EVENING

G-son didn't want to go back to sleep this morning so we got started early today. After chores and breakfast we took a walk.
He excitedly pointed out this beauty hunting for it's breakfast in the standing water of the bottom pastures. In his excitement this was as close as we got before he flew away !
It was sure nice to walk in the warm sunshine and enjoy the pretty blooms of summer .
These  Bee Balm blooms are so fragrant.
And this Crown of Thorns plant is blooming all its pretty little plain blossoms.
Legend says these little plain red blooms signify drops of Jesus's blood from the thorny crown that was made from this plant.
As we walked we talked about school this coming year and what he might have to learn this year.
I think he is looking forward to getting back into class everyday.
He went back inside  to play games on my laptop while I stayed outside with my long handled pruning shears to clean some of the overgrowth from the yard and beds around the house.
It didn't take long to work up a sweat even earlier in the day as the humidity is very high again today.
After lunch we both went back outside to play under a now cloudy sky !!
We played ball and then rode around in the "hammock mobile" to other planets looking for zombies .
His dad picked him up and I finished 7 baby pillows from the ones I had cut out. I only had enough stuffing for 7 so I need a trip to Foam and Fabric in Fletcher soon.
Hubbie came home from work and got on the lawn mower. I did chores early as the sky kept getting darker and darker. Just as hubbie came up the driveway to the shed with the mower the rain started.
I sat out in the sunroom for what I thought would be a short shower. About an hour and another 1 and 1/2" of rain later it slacked enough for me to put on a raincoat and get a flashlight to go up and shut up my chickens.
A slow moving system is causing more flash flooding around our area. Hopefully our creek will stay in its banks tonight. Talked to daughter during the rain storm, she was in Asheville where it wasn't even raining a drop.
This next photo could spell major trouble for any area of the rain soaked southeast this coming weekend as the 3rd named tropical storm heads our way.
Hopefully Chantal will change her mind and head out to sea before she brings anymore rain to our area.

Grateful to God for the blessings of this day and for God's grace in all that I do.
Good Night and God Bless.

We had a little rain here (S.E. WI) yesterday. More is expected today. Right now it is very hot and humid - more like August weather for us. I'l have a word with Chantal and tell her to blow back out to sea and leave the Eastern Seaboard alone - hehe May God bless you and your family and keep you safe.

I love Bee Balm, had forgotten about it until your blog. We had a sunny day, one among many rainy ones, and more to come for the next 2 days. But good to see blue sky. Let's just hope Chantel stays away from us.
