DAY ONE ON ISLE OF PALMS

Up to get things done and get on the road to Isle of Palms ,SC today to join #1 son and Aa's families at the beach.
We had several errands that had to be taken care of before we hit the road so it was late morning before we were headed down the mountain but we are not rushing around .
We had heavy traffic all the way and it took us almost 4 hours with only one stop for a late lunch at a Chick-f-la in Summerville ,SC.
Unfortunately we drove by a fatal accident that had just happened in the opposite lanes just as we started into Columbia where a tractor trailer and a motorcycle had collided killing the cycle driver. That slowed traffic even on our side of the interstate for a long way as it should have.
When we arrived g-son came down and helped us carry our things up to the second floor. We were in cabin #243 and they were in #245, Aa's family is in #241 so we are all right in the same location.
Aa's kids were napping so d-in-love and RL went on a beach walk with us and then we stopped back at the pool to let RL show us her swimming skills she has learned this summer.
She is so brave and is doing really good swimming.

G-son and RL are having a great time playing together.

BB and EL came out with Aa and Re and swam a while until it was time to go find some supper.

#1 son and d-in-love didn't feel well so they stayed home with a very tired RL while the rest of us went out to find a place to eat. We checked a couple spots that had long wait times and finally went into a small place called Dingys . It was mostly a bar but they served some really good food and we were all pleased with our supper choices.
G-son really enjoyed the grilled cheese and cheese sticks he got.
We left there and walked through a couple shops on the away back to the cabins. It is funny down here everything closes at 9:00 .
Hubbie, g-son and I drove over to Harris Teeter grocery store for some supplies while we are here.
We ended the evening playing card games with g-son which was really fun.
As I watched g-son deal cards and laugh and have fun I was overcome with the fact that this boy is growing into a man very quickly and will soon be driving and off to college on his own !!!! Wow , how the time has flown by.
Daughter and her family were having fun on the beach today also.

And this little girl turned another month old today.

Thankful for the traveling mercies of this day and thankful for all my blessings.
God Bless and Good Night
