DAY #3 ON ISLE OF PALMS and HAPPY #65 TO ME

We all got up a little earlier this morning to head out to have a day in Charleston . We found out from our very nice waiter last night that there is a water taxi that takes you from this island to the Charleston water front for only $12 each adults and kids are free. We figured that was better than driving and trying to find parking in Charleston and paying a big fee there for parking a couple vehicles plus the kids would all love a boat ride across the inlet.

EL wanted badly to see some dolphins but we weren't lucky enough to see any.
We got off the boat 15 minutes later and walked around the waterfront letting the kids get cooled off in the big fountains that were there.

D-in-love's mom and boyfriend met us there and walked around with us as we shopped in the old market place and along the streets of downtown.

We didn't get to do the carriage rides this year as the prices were significantly higher and it was such a hot day.

We ate at the Charleston Crab House , the same place we ate last year and it was very good once a gain.
RL, EL and BB ate with pawpaw and me so we felt very special that they wanted to sit with us.
And yes I changed tops as my first one got soaked with sweat I found this really loose flowy one and it was much cooler to finish the day.

After we ate we did a little more walking around then headed back to the water taxi spot in the heat of the day all drenched with sweat and needing to sit awhile.
We rode the taxi for a couple pick ups to let the kids enjoy the ride and cool breeze off the water felt so good.

When we arrived back at our cars it felt really good to get in the air conditioning once again.

We made a stop at Target and then came back to the cabins to have dinner together in our room.
Re went to pick up wings from the place we ate at Monday night called Dingys because tonight was "wing night" and they were on sale and they were very good.
We cooked squash and had fresh vegetables to go with them for a good light supper after a long tiring day and a good lunch.
We took the kids all down to the pool for a night swim then G-son who is spending the night with us tonight and hubbie and me finished the night out playing Uno .

This has been a very good vacation and I really hate cutting it short to leave in the morning but I need to get home so I can have all day Friday to catch my baking up.
And last but not least I turned 65 today and would say I certainly had a wonderful birthday and the facetime call from IR singing me a happy birthday was a perfect way to end the day.
They have had a good time at Carolina beach with son-in-love's brother and his family this week.

Thankful for all the blessings of this day and praying for traveling mercies on our trip home tomorrow.
God Bless and Good Night
