Sleep was hard to come by last night as the thoughts of tomorrow were not easy to get out of our minds.
When the alarm sound at 7am it was almost like a relief that it was time to get up and get to the hospital.
We got IR ready and headed over to meet up with daughter and son-in-love at the hospital.
As I passed this sign in front of the hospital I thought about how really long this day was going to be.
CA was calm before the surgery began.
CA was already in surgery by the time we got there and they were updating daughter that it was going well.
Connie and Tommy were also here with us. Ben and Kristen came in a little later and so did Craig our pastor. This is one of the longest mornings I have ever experienced and hope never to have to do it again.
We waited in the big family waiting room until the doctor came out giving "high 5's" to daughter and son-in-love as he said the surgery went very well with no surprises and no bad news at all.
We all relaxed and went down and had some lunch in the Panera Bread company in the hospital.
We went back up to the icu floor to wait to get into see CA and it wasn't long until they came after daughter and son-in-love to go back. Then we all got to go see her 3 at a time in her own icu room. The nurses said she was doing really well with her recovery and was right on track with everything.
I have never seen so many tubes going into a person before and CA looked so small and almost lost in the maze of wires and tubes !!
We went up to the 12th floor and went outside to kill some time and give IR a little break for a while.
CA did good all afternoon and they took her breathing tube out and said they were probably going to move her to a regular room tomorrow out of icu which would be way ahead of schedule.
We all except daughter who is staying in the hospital with CA went back to the Ronald McDonald house for supper and then let IR burn some more energy off before bedtime in the little park there.
Hubbie and I left to go back to our friends house to spend another night and IR was staying at the McDonald house with her dad tonight while daughter was staying in the hospital with CA.
Thankful for the successful surgery and good recovery that CA is having , only God can completely heal and I feel He is certainly with CA today and I humble thank Him for the comforting arms He kept around all of us today.
God Bless and Good Night
