WINDY WINDY DAY

Wow !!!!!  What a night and morning we are having. Hubbie has been up since 5am listening for trees falling all around in the strong wind we are having.  He said he has never heard the wind this strong around here. He felt a tree fall earlier and when he checked it was a large oak tree down in the pasture thankfully. We still have the very large oak tree that is leaning over the living room area of our house that the guy that came out the first week in November and said he would take it down in about 3 weeks. I called him the first of December and he said it was still on his list but the weather had him behind. We have not heard from him since. I actually was going to call someone else this coming week but now probably will have to wait because I'm sure all the tree people will be extremely busy now.  Thankfully we didn't have any more damage except for a limb that hit a dog house but didn't go through the roof in to it. Limbs covered out yard and garden but we can pick them up as we are just humbly thankful we didn't even loose our power , only our internet service along with the schools internet service so virtual school had to be canceled for the day.  I got chores done and then I had breakfast with IR and CA who had arrived before school was called off and daughter still has to do grades and things online at her house because she has a different internet service and her internet is still working.  We loaded up in hubbie's truck and ran our weekly errands , the PO, the dump / recycle center, Sav Mor grocery store, and a stop by sis-in-law Sandy's to pick up some things she had bought for me to give the girls, and we picked up lunch and headed home. As I looked at IR pretending to drive the truck I thought about g-son now old enough to drive and I know that it won't be long before this little girl will also be old enough to be learning how to drive.

The wind is still crazy strong .  We all ate lunch and then the girls played dress up all afternoon.

After the girls were picked up hubbie and I went out to survey the damage and get chores done. Thankfully we didn't find anything else but some tarps that had blown off several covered things.  We came back inside to get ready for a cold night as the temps is already falling into the lower 20's tonight. I Did my skiing exercise tonight and then baked 3 caramel cakes. 1 for a family meal after a funeral at church Saturday and luckily a couple other ladies called for cakes tomorrow and Saturday.

Thankful for the blessings of this day and very very thankful for God's protective arms around us with all the strong winds today.

God Bless and Good Night
