WORKDAY MONDAY

A different Monday morning as Martin Luther King holiday brings a school holiday. Daughter has to work virtually on the optional workday but son-in-love is off work today so he is watching the kids while she works and d-in-love is taking the day off with g-son and RL.  So hubbie and I had a leisurely breakfast after getting the morning chores done on a nice sunny but cold morning. There was a light dusting of snow flakes all over the ground this morning but they didn't last long.

We decided today would be a good time to tackle at least part of the basement cleanout we have been planning. It is nice enough to put things outside while we cleanout and organize.  We got the old TV that daughter had out of it's place and had to get son-in-love to run over and help hubbie lift it into the truck. It works but is a large heavy model that no one uses anymore.  We brought a large shelf down from the barn to go in the place of TV and were able to load all our extra egg cartons and some other things on it with still space for other things. We worked on one side of the basement all day and were successful in getting it organized and all the unwanted items out.  We finished with a few minutes to rest our achy backs and legs before chore time.  We cooked some frozen pork chops in the instant pot and had baked sweet potatoes to go with them for a good lunch / supper  combo meal.    We got chores done and then got out the heating pads and relaxed for the rest of the evening.  Feeling very accomplished for the work of the day.

Thankful for the blessings of this day and the health and strength to get things done.                                     God Bless and Good Night
