THE NEW RULER OF THE HEN HOUSE

Another busy day, started with baking cakes after morning chores. Hubbie is now off on Fridays until school starts again so he had most of the outside chores done before I got up.
We fixed a bigger lot within the lot for the 2 pullets I bought that match my rooster. They are too young to be out with the rooster and the older hens would peck them.
They seemed to like their new abode and it will give everybody a chance to get used to each other without actually being together.
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that something doesn't get into the big lot and get them.I put the bigger hens up off the ground in a house.

This is the new ruler of the hen house. Rockie as my hubbie named him is settling in quite well,he is very friendly and the ladies seem to enjoy having him around.
Although his inner clock needs a little tuning as he crowed until noon today !!It's funny to watch him as he circles his ladies and is so protective of them. As you can see he is a very large rooster, but he is such a nice guy ! As I mentioned in an earlier post he is a Blue Orphington breed. I think he is one of the prettiest roosters I've ever had.

#1 son came at 10:30 this morning and shortly after his first physical therapy session began. The guy seemed very nice and knowledgeable , he said he saw alot of positive things in what son was able to do with his foot and leg.
As soon as he left the wound care nurse came,it was after 1:00 when everyone cleared out and we could have lunch.
After we ate son and hubbie went on a trash run and stopped back by the medical closet for another wheelchair and to return a couple things he doesn't need anymore.
While they were gone I iced caramel cakes. I don't have as many orders as I have been having so maybe I won't run out of cakes tomorrow, but there is just so much I can do !!
When they got back from their errands we all went back to Sam's Club for some much needed groceries.
Back home the clouds were boiling all around us but no rain here, just heat !!!
We need rain so bad for the garden.I have decided to pick beans tomorrow evening and can them and be thankful for what ever amount there is.
D-in-love came after son and a church friend brought them supper tonight.
Hubbie and I finished work at church and I came home to finish my icings while daughter baked her breads.
This evening I let little Flash out to play with Annie and those 2 even with their size difference had a ball rolling and playing around.
LIFE IS GOOD !!!!!!
Thankful for the wonderful blessings of nature and the enjoyment of our pets and farm animals.
Good Night and God Bless.

Love the pics of the dog and pup! And you are absolutely right, that's what life is all about. We can only hope that others are brought to this same place; and just maybe, our blogs will help do that! Take care and God bless.

Sounds like another great day, Marilyn.. Glad your son is doing so much better...

Love seeing your chickens--and that rooster is a beauty... You do need to set his inner clock though.. WELL--at least he didn't crow at 3:00 in the morning. ha ha

Love seeing the two dogs play with one another...

Seems like life is good --except for NO rain... We need rain here also.... Got a few drops yesterday--but not much.

Hugs,
Betsy
