REFLECTIVE SUNDAY

As I was getting ready for church this morning for some reason I thought about our old sanctuary. I attended this same church when I was growing up in the old sanctuary,I thought about how us younger folks always sat in the side area pews, where we thought no one could see us talk and giggle our way through service. I love our new sanctuary, but the memories of when I was growing up and my children growing up in that old sanctuary will forever be pleasant memories. This is our new sanctuary, built on part of the old parking lot,the old sanctuary is now classrooms for Sunday school.
Now the young people sit in the balcony in hopes no one will see them talk and giggle during service !! Some things change but others stay the same !!!Our emblem suits us perfectly, an apple, the mountains and a cross all rolled into one, perfect!!!
Service was good this morning and I was once again uplifted by our loving church family as they poured out concern and love for my son during this trying time for him and us.
We fixed a big lunch and after eating with #2 son and daughter we took plates over for #1 son and d-in-love. Son looks so much better, he is still having pain and is still struggling to accept the sitting around part of this. He goes to the doctor Tuesday ,I am praying for good news.
We stayed with him and g-son while d-in-love ran to pick up a refill.
As we walked home we heard thunder and saw dark clouds approaching, rain maybe???
After it sprinkled, not even enough to settle the dust the storm passed us by.
I picked some beans for lunch and they are so dry,I'm trying to wait on a rain before I pick to can.If it doesn't rain by Tuesday evening I will need to pick them anyway .
Spent a relaxing evening,so relaxed I forgot a Bible School meeting at church.
We went after son about 9:00 and brought him to spend the night and tomorrow here.
This is the first time he has been farther than his front porch since he got home from the hospital Thursday.
Getting down his steps was easy but getting up our steps was another story since we do not have hand rails on ours. We had to call #2 son ,who practically picked him up and carried him. He was worn out just by that little activity, but it was good for him to move around that much.
Hubbie is going to get materials to put up a hand rail on our steps tomorrow, which will make getting in and out easier for him.
He ate some pizza sister-in-law sent over this afternoon. He seems much better to me than the yesterday or the day before and that's all you can ask for.
I ran to Walmart tonight for juice, milk and other things for tomorrow.
Thanking God for a wonderful Sunday and for the blessings He has given me today and everyday.
Good Night and God Bless.

HI Marilyn, What a gorgeous church.. I love your emblem. Isn't it wonderful to have a loving church family???? You can feel the love I'm sure.

Glad son is doing better. I hope he gets a good report at the doctor on Tuesday.

We are supposed to get rain tomorrow ... Praise God if we do. Hope it comes your way also. We have had a very dry summer. I noticed that some of the big trees are already getting yellow and dead-looking leaves--and it's only July.... GADS!!

Hope you have a good day tomorrow.
Hugs,
Betsy
