JUNE GOES OUT WITH A POOL PARTY FOR RL

A different Sunday morning today with no lunch to fix and not going to church. I got chores done and we had a leisurely breakfast. Then we went over to the Dollar General store to get some last minute items for IR's birthday party. Her actual birthday was on June 20th but with hubbie and I expecting to be out of town and her other grandparents also out of town her party got postponed until today.
Hubbie and I went over to daughter's and helped with the party preparations until lunchtime. Daughter did a great job on the Peppa Pig cake.
Hubbie and I came home and grabbed a quick lunch and loaded all the tables, canopys , coolers and other things for the party in hubbie's truck and head back over to daughter's to pick up the cake. I had to hold the cake in my lap because it was to big to fit anywhere else.
We got to the pool and waited for help to set up.
Everything looked really good.

The kids really enjoyed the pool on this hot day.
IR was still in her mood to not get in the pool so this was as close as she got to the pool.
She did enjoy her cake and presents from her many family and friends that came to help her celebrate.

This is the little ride on Minnie Mouse car hubbie and I got for her and she loved it.

It was a great party and everyone had a lot of fun.
We cleaned up and loaded up and went by daughter's to unload and help them get settled in before we came home.
We watched the news and there was a chance of some rain headed our way so we got chores done early. The rain didn't make it to our area so I worked in the yard pulling some grass out of the back walkway and then we relaxed for a while before dark.
June has been a hard month for my family with the heart problems for CA causing the month to begin with most of our time spent with her in the NICU unit at Mission hospital and 2 and 3 doctor appointments every week with little improvement so far.
#2 son and Tif were married on the 24th in Glacier Park Montana and we were sad to miss that but feel we definitely made the right decision to stay home to help with CA and IR.
IR turned 2 years old on the 20th and we celebrated with her today in a delayed pool party.
Hubbie, Tif and Aa all also got a year older this month and we celebrated father's day.
We also celebrated with EL as she graduated from kindergarten.
The weather was cooler than normal on most days and we had quite a lot of rain this month that really spurred the garden produce along.
Praying that July brings some better news for CA than what the doctor's expect and we can settle back into a more normal lifestyle of just enjoying this newest member of our family and celebrating her health victories.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and for the joy of friends and family. Praying for CA that she is gaining some weight and her weigh in at the doctor is a good one tomorrow.
God Bless and Good Night.

GOOD MARKET DAY AND JUNE OF 2009

Up to get ready for market. I haven't been sleeping well so getting out of bed each morning is harder and harder.
I got chores done and we made it to market on time with hubbie picking up daughter's things on the way.
Sales were very good today and I stayed steadily busy all morning. Hubbie had to stay and help while I got all the pay checks done for the market for the month and then he left to make a stop at Walmart on his way home.
I almost sold out of everything so that is a good day and I am very thankful for the business.
I made a stop at Aldi to pick up baking supplies for next week and some things for IR's birthday party that we are having tomorrow.
By the time I got home the heat of the market day coupled with the sleeplessness of last night hit me and after hubbie helped me get unloaded we both took naps. Hubbie had been out in the heat all afternoon mowing the lawn.
G-son came in while his dad worked on his brakes on his SUV and said he couldn't believe I was asleep.
I told him it had been a long week and I would probably regret it tonight but I felt like my body needed a couple hours extra rest in the cool house this evening.
I got up and had supper and then got chores done.
To finish up the June decade pictures these are from June of 2009. G-son was the only grandchild and nephew so he got the full attention of all of us.

Dolly even loved this little boy.

We had fun at a cook out at brother -in-law Marty's pool.

Thankful for the memories and thankful for the blessings of this day. Thankful also that the new heart medicine seems to be helping CA eat more and be more relaxed.
God Bless and Good Night.

POOL DAY AND 1989 MEMORIES

UP to what feels like another hot day after the morning coolness wears off. I got chores done then had breakfast. I needed some baking supplies from Ingles so I met daughter and the girls there to help her shop also.
We all came back here for lunch. Daughter wanted to take IR to d-in-love's pool to hopefully convince her to get in with Addie and RL so that's where we spent the afternoon. But IR refused to get in the pool once again. We can't figure out what has turned her against pools as last year she was in one all the time when they lived in the apartments.
She was content to stand and watch Addie and RL play.

G-son even tried his luck coaxing her in to no avail.
CA slept most of the day inside in the cool house with pawpaw.
We left at about 5:00 and came home for me to bake. I baked 6 caramel, 3 chocolate, 2 pound cakes and 1 pan of brownies. Then we got chores done before I went back in the kitchen to start icing the cakes and getting things all ready for market tomorrow.
To continue the decade series these pics are from June 1989 when we were very busy with activities with our 3 small kids.
#2 son graduated kindergarten that month. His teacher was Mrs. Salatino and assistant was Mrs. Lyda.

Son is 3rd from left looking at the camera .
 He loves his little sister.
Hubbie was the Cub Master for the local cub scout troop and we had a lot of activities that month including cook outs, bike rides and a trip to see an  Asheville Tourist baseball game.
Hubbie cooks while Peggy Lyda one of the scout's mom holds an umbrella to keep the rain off.
At least there was a shed to eat under out of the rain.
Hubbie loads all the bikes in his truck.
Daughter was always along for the fun.
#1 son in the orange "Tiger" shirt with a couple of his friends at the baseball game.
#1 son on the left and #2 son 3rd from left at the game with friends.
And last but certainly not least we made a trip to Garden City SC beach that month.

When I look back at these busy times I wonder how in the world we got all this done while running a farm full time but then I remember we were 30 years younger !!!
Thankful for these fun memories that keep making me smile.
Praying for CA that starting this new medicine will help her gain weight and feel better.
Thankful for the blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night
