CARL SANDBURG TRIP

Since this is the first official day of summer break from school and all the kids will be here we have a busy fun day planned.
But first there is a couple doctor appointments for CA to get through. I got up at 7:00 when g-son and g-daughter RL got here. D-in-love only works 2 days a week through the summer but they are 10 hour days and start early.  I got chores done and grabbed a breakfast bar and a cup of coffee before daughter brought IR over here and picked me up to go with her and CA. First appointment was at the lab at the cardiologist office for a blood draw to check all her levels since they upped her Lasix .
They had trouble getting enough blood and had to stick her in a couple places. She cried and cried, bless her little heart we sure hope this isn't a routine happening.
We left there and headed over to the pediatrician for a weight check and saw a new doctor today who was very nice. Thankfully CA had gained 4.5 ounces since last Wednesday which is a major step in the positive direction.
We came home and had an early lunch since neither of us had eaten much breakfast the left over pizza tasted very good.
Our plans were to take all the kids and meet Addie and Kristen at Carl Sandburgs and take the kids to see the goats.

We cross a bridge over a creek on the way in and out of the park and there is usually always a snake sunning on the rocks in the creek and today there was a large snake that looked like a rattle snake but was probably only a large water snake.
It was very hot and sunny at the park and we left there and headed across town to Pelican Snowballs to cool down. On the way there we drove through a terribly heavy rainstorm but by the time we reached Pelican's the rain had passed there. The kids all enjoyed their snowballs and so did the adults.

We headed home to rest after our big day .
I fed CA and hubbie fed the other girls some cantaloupe, g-son had more pizza while daughter got some final grades in the computer and did some insurance work.
#1 son came after g-son and RL and he ate his supper of the left overs from yesterday while he was here.
After everyone left hubbie and I got out and got chores done under a very threatening sky. The storm that passed today left 3/10ths inch in the gauge but they are calling for more heavy rain overnight and if the clouds are any indication they are probably correct.
This is a large "strawberry" moon and this isn't my picture because the clouds are hiding it tonight but it is a beautiful moon.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and prayerfully thankful that CA seems to have turned a corner and is getting better finally with the wonderful healing power of our wonderful Savior.
God Bless and Good Night
