DODGED THE ICE BULLET THIS TIME

After a pretty worrisome night of fitful sleep listening to the rain fall outside and watching the temperature drop each time we got up to check the thermometer we were pleasantly surprised to still have electric when we opened our eyes this morning and find that the only ice we had around here was on the trees and the temperature was 34 degrees.  It was still raining lightly and I dumped 1 inch from the gauge from the overnight rains.

Everyone I know breathed a big sigh of relief this morning to not have the 1/4 to 1/2 inch of devastating ice coating on everything.   Schools remained closed so hubbie and I got to sleep in and have a leisurely morning getting chores done and have breakfast.  We decided to put in a curbside grocery order at Publix on some of their BOGO deals. They had a pick up order time at 2:00-3:00 so we ventured across town and got the order. This was super easy and I will definitely shop with them this way again to get in on their deals.  We came home and put things away then I finished my shredding for the tax year and moved all the files around to get ready to get our taxes done. Hubbie worked in his wood pile since it isn't raining this afternoon.
Daughter and son-in-love dropped IR and CA off to run to Sams' Club to pick up a new floor cleaner. RL saw them pass and wanted to come up and play with them. The girls seem to all miss one another when they aren't together. They played and snacked until all their parents came to pick them up. After they left hubbie and I got out to get chores done. The mud is really slick again and I had to be careful not to fall. I will be so happy when the ground dries out.  After chores we had a light supper and then I walked on the treadmill and then relaxed for the evening.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and thankful that we were spared any damaging ice but still praying for the folks that are battling this storm.
God Bless and Good Night
