Surprising sunshine woke me this morning as it poured through the bedroom window. I could here the snow icicles dripping and knew the wonderland of last night would soon be a distant memory. I got out to get chores done and found a slippery wet melting heavy snow that had pulled the netting over the silkie lot down .
It took twice as long at chores this morning by the time I got the netting back up and also swept all the snow off the vegetable row covers. There is still enough snow that it is still pretty but I don't think it will last very long with the blue sky and sunshine with the upper 30's temps already.
The kids got out early to play before it all turned to a muddy slush.
While they all played hubbie and I cooked lunch for everyone. We made chicken / mac and cheese casserole, green beans, corn, broccoli salad and fruit salad. #1 son's family, #2 son and Tif, Aa's family made it to lunch and daughter brought the girls over later to play with the other kids. We all had a wonderful visit .
After they all left it was chore time again and the snow is almost all completely gone leaving a slick muddy mess all around.
We came inside and had some left overs for supper and then relaxed for the evening. A perfect way to end a wonderful Sunday.
Thankful for all the wonderful blessings of this day.
