WORLD REFRESHED AFTER STORMS

This clearing sky was a welcome sight this morning after the storms of last night. There was 2 inches of rain in the gauge and a lot of standing water in the lower pastures but thankfully no other damage.
I snapped these pics on the way home from dropping g-son at school. Things look so refreshed this morning and the grass seems so much greener than it did yesterday.
This little guy was confused about where the pond was with all the standing water around he wound up in the middle of the driveway.
The mark on the underside of his shell identified him (or her) as a Midland Painted Turtle.
Annie and Flash thought they had found a playmate !!!
Every time the turtle made the smallest move they ran around him. I finally delivered him back to the farm pond so he would be safe from "his playmates" !!
I spent the morning doing some housework and baking cakes. I baked 6 caramel,3 chocolate, 1 coconut, 2 pound and 1 wine cake.
After lunch I finished cleaning the kitchen and took a nice vitamin D break in the nice warm mid 70's sunshine. A pretty good breeze is blowing making the bright sunshine look a bit deceiving.
At chore time I checked in on the latest chick hatch and found four late hatched chicks for this mama that I was afraid had not kept her eggs warm during the cold weather.
I still have another hen setting due to hatch in a couple weeks and one of the kindergarten teachers at g-son's school asked for eggs on Monday to put in her incubator. She hatches them and then gives the chicks to me,hopefully I will have a setter ready for some extra babies when hers hatch.
I spent the evening icing cakes and getting ready for market day tomorrow.
Daughter came by bringing her baked items on her way to the church to set up the fifth quarter for the youth. D-in-love came by later after she picked up pizza's for the fifth quarter to borrow a couple extension cords for some outside lights.
Hope they have a good turnout tonight, they all have worked really hard preparing for this ministry.
God will smile on these activities and prayerfully He will reap a bountiful harvest of followers from it.
Good Night and God Bless.

I agree that everything looks so much greener after the rain and spring is definitely in full bloom. The hen and chicks are so pretty and fluffy. Hope you have a good day at market today. Also hope your 2 daughter's ministry went well.
