SLOW MARKET TO START SEPTEMBER

Got ready for market this morning in my usual hurried run.  I have no idea why I can't get there as I used to in the same amount of time.
Market was slow today as expected of the week after a holiday weekend. I am thankful for what I did sell.
After market I made my usual stops along with a trip to Habitat resale store to look for a  bigger dining room table.  I need a table that is no wider than the one I have but has a leaf so we can extend the table when the whole family comes for meals.  They had one at Habitat but it was pretty worn on the surface so I need hubbie to go by and check to see if we can sand out all the marks and wear. It is nice because it actually is about the same size as the one  I have now but it has 3 additional leaves.
I got home later than usual and it looked like rain any minute but I got things unloaded and put away with no raindrops on me.
Hubbie came in from work a little late because he went by daughter's to let her dog out as she has a volleyball game tonight. Her teams won both the games over Tuscola High School.
We had supper then did chores all the while expecting it to start raining any minute. The dark clouds look threatening all evening.
After dark the thunder got closer and closer and the lightening was really bad. The house shook with each thunder bummer.  I felt sorry for the dogs as they were so afraid. Hubbie had to put Sadie in the lot with Annie as she was becoming so agitated before the worse of the storm even got here.
We got  6/10ths inch of rain but the thunder and lightening was the real problem as trees came down in several places but lucky for us nothing that we know of close and we kept our electric all through it.
After all the fireworks subsided tonight about 9:30 I baked 12 caramel cakes.
I am tired tonight and am thankful things have quieted down before time for bed.
Thankful to God for sparing us damage from this storm and thankful for the blessings of this day.
Good Night and God Bless.

Hi There, We still haven't gotten much rain here. Luckily though, we did end up with SOME this weekend ---so I'm thankful... It's still quite dry and many leaves are coming off of the trees because of the drought...

The new dining room table sounds perfect if your hubby can fix it. Bet he can...

I met another blog friend today. We had a great time --and I love meeting all of these people I already know through blogging. Maybe sometime I can meet you.

Hugs,
Betsy

Glad to hear you were spared any storm damage. We have had rain , just not very much or it comes all at once. Lots of leaves and tree limbs come down then, Hopefully your hubby can fix the table. Have a great weekend. Blessings
