HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2015

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO ALL !!!

I was up early today even though I am not getting the turkey in the oven early today. Instead I was delivering cakes, 12 caramel and 1 chocolate to a regular Thanksgiving customer who gets this many cakes year after year. Thanks Cordes Simpson.
After I got back I had breakfast and then hubbie and I began cleaning the house before everyone gets here tonight to have Thanksgiving dinner . The table is set and ready !

We mopped ourselves out into the 57 degree sunny day to enjoy the sunshine for a little while.
I swept off the porches while I was outside. This is not the warmest Thanksgiving day we have had but it is really nice. This is the temps of the last few years on Thanksgiving day.

It was time to begin cooking for tonight so I put the 20 lb turkey in the oven at 2:00 along with sweet potatoes to bake for my sweet potato casserole that everyone loves.
This is a nice way to spend the day as we didn't have to hurry through the cooking and everything worked well right on schedule.  The only miscue was that I forgot to pick up turkey stock for the dressing and didn't get any turkey gravy so hubbie had to make a quick trip to Ingles.
He said there was no traffic at all on the roads so maybe #1 son's family who is traveling to and from Onieda Tennessee today and #2 son and Tiffany who are traveling to Brevard and Rosman and then here and daughter and Josh who are traveling to Saluda and then here will all be safe on the roads.
Daughter and Josh came over at 4:00 to watch the Panthers/Cowboys football game  with hubbie.
I put the finishing touches on our Thanksgiving dinner and then joined them to wait for everyone else to arrive.
We had turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, homemade cranberry sauce, gravy, and rolls with sweet tea to drink. Daughter brought over a couple million dollar pies she made for dessert, they were very good !!

#1 son's family made it in from Tennessee just in time and #2 son and Tiffany arrived just ahead of them. The eight of us ate and had a wonderful time and g-son got the slice of caramel cake he had been wanting all week !! After everyone had ate their fill we retired to the living room to watch the rest of the game. The Panthers won pretty big and it wasn't much of a game.
It turned out to be a wonderful fun Thanksgiving evening for all.
I saw this picture and thought how it certainly fits my active lifestyle.
As I listened to all the fun conversation tonight I thanked God for the wonderful family I have and for the happiness that fills my home when all the kids are here.
I hope everyone out there in blogger land had a wonderful Thanksgiving day also.
I will end with this prayer, may it stay in my heart for all the days of the next year.
God Bless, Good Night and Happy Thanksgiving

I know your Thanksgiving was wonderful.

We are still getting rain here. Far better than snow and ice.

Blessings.
