GARDENING SUNDAY

Today starts our more relaxed Sunday mornings. Daughter and hubbie gave up their Sunday school class because daughter is going to church with Josh at Biltmore Baptist church on Upward road closer to their house.
So it was nice to have hubbie helping to get lunch ready and doing a little cleaning this morning.
Church was good today from Exodus about God's calling in our lives. Pastor David Horton told the story of how he was called to preaching when he was only 14 years old.
In the "Kid's Church" they put on a play and g-son was Paul.

We came home to a lunch of pot roast with potatoes, corn and green beans with biscuits.
We were joined by #1 son's family and Aa's family.
After everyone left and with the sound of thunder in the distance along with the prediction of rain beginning tomorrow and coming each day this week hubbie and I decided to work in the garden.
We gleaned the produce throwing another 5 gallon bucket of tomatoes to the chickens. I don't think we have ever had a worse problem with rotting tomatoes. They definitely need some dry weather.
I pulled up the row of bush beans and got enough for another run of dilly beans .

We re-planted that row with more Fall vegetables, Spinach, lettuce, mustard, collards and turnips joined the already up Kale for our Fall dining pleasures.
We also planted more yellow squash and cucumbers.
I also found some "winter" squash that were ready today.

After we finished the garden work with no rain yet we headed out to Tractor Supply for feed and lawn mower oil and filter.
After chores I crashed for a while on the couch to get a rest. I am still very tired feeling at the end of these busy days. I wonder if it is the sickness I am fighting or if another year older is taking a bigger tole than I thought ????
G-son and g-daughter went to a church family fishing get together this evening and when the fish didn't bite they got to play in the creek. They look like they were having a great time.

Looking froward to an early bedtime to rest up for another busy week as this is d-in-love's first full week back to work.
Thankful to God for the wonderful blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night

i was just catching up on all your posts from last week. So sorry to hear you and g-daughter came down with hoof and mouth virus. praying you both have a speedy recovery. Vacations are always fun and then it is nice to come home and get back to normal life. I am tired of all the heat and humidity and actually looking forward to Fall. Our Farmers MArkets are booming with all the fresh vegetables available. Yum! Blessings
