ISLE OF PALMS DAY 5

Slept in a little this morning since I am having a terrible time getting comfortable on this really soft mattress at night to get to sleep.
I had my breakfast and then hubbie ,daughter, IR and I set out on a walk to the lower end of the island. Daughter said it was about a 25 minute walk according to the internet. She carried IR in a carrier on her stomach and I don't see how she was able to carry that much extra weight without really hurting her neck and back.
The end of the island was really pretty.
It is all houses up here so the beaches are not crowded at all.

When we got back everyone else was on the beach under our canopy.

The kids played and played in the sand and the ocean.

There was a church group there and they had made a huge maze. They came and asked if the girls could go through it and AD, EL,and CO were up for the challenge.
They listened carefully to the instructions and since only right turns were allowed AD held up her right hand to remind them to turn that direction.

It was nice to have everyone together and all the kids seemed to really enjoy each other.

Unfortunately #1 son stepped on a sharp shell while he was out with g-son riding the waves and cut his foot pretty badly. Thankfully Re got the bleeding stopped before a trip to emergency was necessary.

It is going to be hard to keep infection out of the cut on the bottom of his foot !!!
It was so hot after the kids had sandwiches on the beach for lunch we decided to  call it a day for the beach activities and packed everything up and came in.
While all the kids took naps hubbie, daughter,IR and I rode down to Sullivan's Island to do some sight seeing. We visited the lighthouse on the island and this old fort.

We also went over the bridge to Mount Pleasant to check out an antique shop. Hubbie and IR sat in front of a huge fan they had to cool the outdoor part of the shop while daughter and I shopped.

I bought some cotton stems and a book about the history of Isle of Palms and daughter found a couple small items.
We had to be very careful not to buy anything big because we don't have room to haul anything else for sure !!!
We all met at a small seafood restaurant in Sullivan's Island and had another delicious meal.

When we got back to the condo hubbie, daughter and I started packing and loading the Honda so we can get an early start in the morning to get home.
Everyone else went to the pool.

A thunder and lightening storm cleared them from the pool and into their condos shortly after we finished loading.
The storm left behind a beautiful sunset over the little community of Isle of Palms.

Thankful for another great day of vacation and for the love of family and friends .
God Bless and Good Night
