SHOPPING , BAKING PRE FOURTH TUESDAY

Up to the sounds of IR this morning as daughter dropped her off on her way to manage market.
I got chores done and had breakfast then fixed IR her morning bottle.
I received a 10% off coupon from Tractor Supply that expires soon so we made a trip there to restock my feed and some other things. We also stopped at Walmart to pick up some baking supplies and groceries.
IR slept through Tractor Supply but woke up when we pulled into Walmart. She is taking care of the "ball" ,her words, that we are going to make coleslaw out of for our cookout tomorrow evening.
We came home in time to have lunch and then hubbie and IR went outside to let the dogs all out for a run and I got my baking started. I'm baking today instead of tomorrow because of the festivities we have planned tomorrow for July 4th.
I baked 18 caramel, 6 chocolate, 3 pound and 1 blackberry wine cake and was just finishing up at about 4:00 when d-in-love and RL came up to let RL play with her chick named Abagail.
Daughter left market and went to pick blackberries and she came in shortly to pick up IR.
After everyone left hubbie and I pulled some weeds for the chickens from the garden. This is a couple days late but here is our July garden this year. In this first pic from left are the potatoes, the tilled up rows of early vegetables replaced with some late beans and squash, bush beans, half runner beans on the trellis, okra, yellow and zuchinni squash, tomatoes.
In this pic from left are the tomatoes, hot peppers, bell peppers, cucumbers, luffa guords, bush acorn squash, late greasy back beans, spaghetti squash, cantalopes , pink banana squash.
We came inside to watch the evening news and saw why we were drenched in sweat this late in the day as the thermometer says it is still 92 degrees.
We went back out and got the chores done and took a short break out in the covered patio but the air is so heavy and there is no breeze at all so our rest there wasn't very comfortable tonight.
I finished the evening icing caramel and chocolate cakes.
Storms blew up about 10:30 tonight and are still going on with thunder and lightening and pouring rain as I type this at 11:30.
These were surprise storms that just blew up right over us .
Thankful for the blessings of this day and praying that everyone has a safe and happy July Fourth tomorrow.
God Bless and Good Night
