DREARY DAY ACTIVITY

6:45 came early this morning as my alarm and my phone both sounded off to wake me up. D-in-love is starting her new job today and has to be in Asheville at 7:30 so she brought g-son and slipped him in bed with me.
G-son went back to sleep after a few minutes and so did I. At my regular time I got up and did the outside chores while he was still asleep.
He is so good to bounce around anywhere and on any schedule it is amazing.
He got up with a smile on his face wanting waffles for breakfast.
Today is really cool and cloudy, only a high of 70 degrees. It hasn't rained heavily but just a steady drizzle so far.
I cleaned up in my neglected office this morning and did some filing and picture framing that had been waiting for a while.
After lunch I took g-son out to Chick-fil-a to play in their inside play room to break up this dreary day.
He happily agreed that this would be a great idea.
He quickly made lots of friends and had a wonderful 1 1/2 hour playtime.
This photo made me think of the barrel of monkeys game !!!
We came home so dad could pick him up and take him to karate lessons.
He will be one tired little boy tonight !!

After he left I did the evening chores and then hubbie and I had some boiled cabbage from our garden for a light supper.
I was willing to move some things from #2 son's house into our basement this evening but both of them were too pooped so we'll wait until another day.
I caught up on my magazine reading while I waited for the sun to set.
I emptied about 1/4" of rain from the gauge at chore time. It is starting to mist rain lightly again.
Looks like tomorrow will be another dreary day as well. Hopefully we will get more rain than we have  gotten out of this system.
Looking forward to an early bedtime for sure tonight.
Thanking God tonight for the blessings of the day and for the never questioning love of grandchildren.
Good Night and God Bless.

Hi Marilyn, Not much rain here today ---just some sprinkles off and on... We were able to work in the yard some...It was muggy though.. Some rain may come to us tonight--but it looks like it is breaking up, so we may not get anything. Crazy weather!

Glad your grandson is such a sweetie and so flexible. Love children who are easy-going like that.

Have a great Tuesday.
Hugs,
Betsy

I DIDN'T KNOW IT RAINED SO MUCH IN N.C.. COLORADO NEEDS IT SO BAD. MY FRIEND LIVES JUST 60 MILES FROM THE BIG FIRE OUT THERE. PLEASE ASK YOUR CHURCH GROUP TO PRAY HARD FOR THE FOLKS THAT ARE IN THE PATH OF THE FIRE, PLUS FOR THE FOLK THAT HAD TO RUN LIKE CRAZY IN THEIR PJ'S. TRUE.
