HAPPY 236th BIRTHDAY AMERICA !

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO EVERYONE !!!!
HAPPY 236th BIRTHDAY TO AMERICA OUR GREAT COUNTRY !!

A holiday in the middle of the week is kind of a non-event around our house.
Hubbie and D-in-love both worked today, hubbie a normal day but d-in-love did get off early.
#1 son helped a friend put in a septic system at a produce stand he is building so g-son got to spend another morning with Neena !!
After we fed the animals and had our breakfast he settled into watch TV while I baked cakes. I made 12 caramel, 2 coconut , 2 chocolate, 4 pound cakes before lunch.
D-in-love brought a friends 2 daughters home with her from work for the afternoon and she took them and g-son to a neighbor's pool to cool off for the afternoon.
I did some house cleaning before our cook out  tonight and made a cucumber salad.
I iced 6 of the caramel cakes and then started cutting up the meat and vegeis for our kabobs.
It looked like a storm would surely hit us with all the noisy thunder but we didn't get a drop of water all day.
#1 son came in just as we got all the kabobs loaded and he grilled them for us since hubbie had never done kabobs before.

They were delicious along with the cucumber salad, new boiled potatoes and corn on the cob  followed by watermelon.
Having 3 kids to wait on again brought back many memories for me !!
I was so busy I forgot to take many photos.
After everyone left and the neighborhood fireworks started popping we put all the dogs up and brought Sadie inside the basement for a while as she is the most scared and wasn't in a lot with the rest of them.
Here is some floats in the 4th of July parade in our town !!

At bedtime things had quited down enough to let her outside to spend a regular night of guarding the farm.

I finished my icings and got things packed up for market and it was 11:30 so it's off to bed for a tired lady tonight.
Thanking God for a safe wonderful 4th of July and the blessings of a wonderful family to spend it with.
Good Night and God Bless.

Hi Marilyn, WE had a nice 4th --and spent the day with G's Dad and his sister and hubby... Had a nice time.

Today--we had a whopper of a bad storm... Too close for comfort. We lost 2-3 trees in the back near our house (golf course property)... Scared me to death. BUT--other than lots of clean up, we are fine... They said on TV that winds were as much as 70 mph. The good news is that we did get some rain... Yeah!!!! It had been another very hot day --so the rains cooled it off some.

Hugs,
Betsy
