RAINY SATURDAY AND COVID UPDATE

Clouds were low and dark this morning as we got chores done and walked down to put eggs in the mailbox for the pick up.
Thankfully d-in-love-Tif is our mail lady and knows that from time to time there are strange things on our mailbox !!!
We spent the morning replanting some things from pots to the ground and I fertilized all the roses before we got ran inside from a misty rain that began to fall.
Daughter did a pick up order from Walmart and stopped by here with our things. IR was with her and begged to stay with us so we had something to do on this rainy day.
We played with her and had lunch which was this delicious salad for me. I didn't even add any dressing as the combinations of vegetables and strawberries gave it an amazing flavor on it's own.
All IR wanted was some strawberries and this waffle cover with syrup. She said this was what "Anna" who she said wears this dress always eats.

IR played and played and finally crashed about 4:00 as she was singing "rain rain go away me and RL want to play".
Hubbie and I fixed an early supper of a couple of  NY strip steaks on the grill with roasted fresh asparagus and boiled beets, yum .
IR woke up just as I finished eating and sat in my lap until her mom and dad came over to take her home and visited for a while with CA. IR just loves to snuggle close and sit really still.

After they all left hubbie and I got chores done before the rain storms got to our area.
We are under a tornado watch and flood watch for heavy rain, wind and hail in the early evening hours.

Luckily by the time I am writing this the storms have mostly passed our area . Upstate SC just below us took the hardest hit from these storms that put down some 2" size hail balls in spots and several unconfirmed tornadoes. Praying for our southern neighbors tonight.
Our NC governor Roy Cooper made an announcement that all NC schools will remain on virtual learning for the remainder of this school year and all buildings will remain closed. He also continued the statewide "stay at home" ruling until May 8,2020 as cases in the state and most counties keep rising.

After watching a couple news cast on TV hubbie and I headed to bed to enjoy a calm night of sleep.
Thankful for the protective arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as this is a crazy world right now and I really don't know what folks do that don't have God to depend on to carry them through the rough times we are facing right now.
God Bless and Good Night
