ANOTHER RAINY FLOODING DAY

Woke to the sound of poring rain and just wanted to roll over and cover up my head !!! But the animals were waiting for breakfast and Clare, an egg customer text and said she was on her way to pick up her weekly eggs from the mailbox.
Hubbie took the truck down to meet Clare and pick up RL who was staying here today while her mom worked at school.
I got up and got chores done in a pouring rain and looked sadly at my flooding garden.
There is lots of standing water everywhere this morning but the creek is still within it's banks at least as of now.

Daughter brought IR and CA over here while she ran out to Sam's Club to pick up our online order.
She has a lot of work to get done online today also so the three girls will have a good play day.
Re picked up lunches and dropped them by here.
After we ate lunch daughter had to go on an errand and hubbie and i loaded up all three girls and went to pick up my order from the Amazon returns place called Blue Ridge Bargains and go to the post office to mail back some empty meat boxes and mail all the bills I paid last night.
The first Post Office which was on the way to pick up our order was closed from 12:30 to 2:00 so we picked the order up and still had almost 45 minutes before it opened so we just drove to another local Post Office which was only closed from 12:00- 1:00 and mailed everything.
We came home and daughter was already here and d-in-love came in shortly after.
It took extra lengths to keep these outside loving girls entertained today and they became hair dressers to a brave d-in-love.

After everyone went home hubbie and I watched the early news then went out to get chores done.
These beans that were so pretty a couple days ago don't look so good now after being covered with muddy water for part of the day.
Parts of the garden are still under water as I checked on plants.
It has rained off and on heavily all day and the creek is now out in the bottom pastures.
Hopefully we get a break and let the waters run down a bit. Thankfully we haven't had the flooding some places around our area have had.
There was 2.5 more inches in the gauge this evening to bring the total since Monday to almost 5" and more is predicted overnight.
Plus it is feeling more like late winter tonight instead of spring as the temperature is 48 degrees .
Another wood stove fire this evening feels really good but neither of us can remember a fire this late in May.
I almost cleaned this area up earlier this week but now I'm glad I didn't because I would of just had to do it again.
Hubbie and I both just rested this evening from what seems like a very long day !!!
After the weather is nice and we got to work and play outside it is harder to sit inside for multiple days at a time.
I am thankful for the blessings of this day and thankful for the thirst quenching rain for the earth and i know that God's plan is much better than mine and He will take care of everything,
God Bless and Good Night

You seem to be getting all the rain we had earlier this week. We are still under a Flood Watch and water is still running down the street. Temps are a lot cooler for this time of year also. Crazy times we are in right now. Stay safe and healthy.
