BLOCK BLAST 2012

This morning was sunny and warm as I hurried through chores to get ready for market.
When hubbie and I got there the parking lot was full which surprised me and the day was busy.
I sold almost everything I took so it was thankfully a successful Saturday.
I made a baking supply stop on my home and then decided to take a look at the new renovated Belks store in town to see what deals they have since I could use a couple pair of jeans to fit my slimmer behind !!
No success at finding any long pants on the sale racks but did find some new bras on clearance in my new smaller size !!
As I drove home the now cloudy skies opened up and I drove through a pretty hard rain shower until I got almost to our house and then it tapered off to a drizzle.
Hubbie and daughter have been at church all day helping with our yearly Block Blast so I am glad the rain didn't reach them. Hubbie was in his regular security and parking role and daughter was helping with the kid's games.
G-son went to the Block Blast and enjoyed all the kids rides with hubbie earlier today while d-in-love helped with the kids games. Hubbie made these pics with his phone.

He liked petting his pony ! You can tell by his red face that he was really having fun running from one thing to another.
I went up to join the fun after I got chores done early. The rain has been spotty and the wind was starting to blow.
The crowds were much smaller this year than usual. With the unpredictable weather and all the severe weather warnings for the area I think many folks decided to play it safe and stay home today.
Hubbie and I ate BBQ with daughter and her b-friend having to hold on to our plates with one hand so the wind wouldn't blow them away.
We left shortly after we ate because in just about a 30 minute time span the temperature dropped 20 degrees chilling everyone with shorts and short sleeves to the bone.
I came home and snuggled on the couch with my 4-legged kids. I am looking forward to more of this as the weather cools.
Just as the sun had set the edge on the cold front became visible on the horizon making for a beautiful evening photo.
#2 son came by tonight to collect all his papers to get his house loan at the bank started tomorrow. He is working with TD bank and they are open on Sunday which suits him as he is working 6 ten hour days right now at the P.O.
I pray that God opens the necessary doors for him and this process goes smoothly and quickly.
I am prayerfully thankful for my blessing filled day and for the people who might have received the message of God's love today at our block blast. All the Glory be to God.
Good Night and God Bless.

Hi Marilyn, LOVE this cooler weather... Supposed to go down into the low 50's tonight... WOW--that's awesome...

We didn't get much rain --but did have a little bit early this morning.

I will pray for your son and hope that he gets that house.

Looks like your grandson had a fun day.
Hugs,
Betsy
