GOOD BYE FEBRUARY 2019

Earlier wake up call this morning to get the kids taken care off, get chores done and get ready for market.
We made it only a few minutes late and I dropped RL off at her pre-school and met hubbie and IR at market.
It isn't raining yet but it looks like it could start at any minute. Thankfully the roof is supposedly fixed  so I put all my table covers and décor back in it's regular place before getting the baked goods set out on it.
The rain started about mid morning just about the time customers should have been stirring around so it was a very slow day but I am thankful for what I did sell.
The market manager brought a little pull around bug  for IR to play with and she pulled it all over market.

I did my first pay-roll duty as the new market treasurer today as I got all the employees paid for their February work.
Connie, IR's other g-ma picked her up about 10:30 and hubbie replaced some light bulbs that were out around market before he went to the dump and brought our lunch subs back.
After we ate he left to make our weekly Sam's Club stop and get a haircut.
I left at closing time and made a stop at Ingles for some baking supplies for tomorrow and came home. You would think we would be used to sloshing around in the rain by now but it doesn't make it any easier.
There is so much mud and mold seems to be taking over everything.
Hubbie helped me get unloaded and get things put away  then he went out to get his chores done as IR is coming back at 5:30 to stay while her mom and dad go to a FCA event to here Clemson's football coach Dabo Swinney speak.
I did my chores after IR came while hubbie stayed inside with her as it is still raining. There is only 2/10ths inch in the gauge so far but there is supposed to be some heavier rains overnight.
Daughter said the event was really good and the speakers were really good.
The introductory speaker was a young man that always played baseball with #2 son on his all-star baseball team.
Dabo was the main speaker and delivered a great message for all the young athletes in attendance in the pack auditorium of Biltmore Church.

While they were there IR had a fun time with us . She got her bath and got ready for bed but didn't go to sleep until mom picked her up.

Hubbie and I were yawning ourselves to sleep by the time daughter got here at 9:30 so it was off to bath and bed for us as soon as they left.
The last day of February has surely snuck up on me this year .  Usually this is tax month for me and my goal is to get all our taxes filed by the end of the month but this year due to a clitch in the tax act program the only one that is filed is #2 sons. Daughter's is done and mine is in the works so it wasn't a total miss and hopefully I can get them finished and filed soon.
This month has been an unusually warm and rainy month with daffodils blooming and grass starting to turn green already.
We did have some ice on one occasion and some windy days that reminded us that winter was still here.
Daughter, son-in-love and IR got moved into their new home finally after a year in the small apartment and are working on getting settled in.
Thankful for all the blessings this month has contained and looking forward to what God has in store for the family in March.
God Bless , Good Night and Good-Bye February

BORING TAX DAY

Got up feeling totally dazed this morning. Thankfully the cold rain that was falling helped me shake off the daze as I got chores done.
I took RL to pre-school and came straight home. I ate a big breakfast thinking this would help me get rid of the effects of that dose of Nyquil I took last night.
I went downstairs and got the sheets washed then feeling better decided since I call February "tax" month that I had better spend some time getting daughters and our taxes worked on.
I got daughter's completed and took a break for lunch and to give IR some attention since she had been so good playing with hubbie all morning.
After lunch I gathered our paperwork and got started on ours with high hopes of getting them finished also but the Tax Act site I was working on had different ideas about that and started logging me off at the same place each time I tried to continue working.  Finally I gave up and tried calling them but the recording told me they weren't taking calls at this time ?????   Okay my thoughts on this are "if you're not taking calls during tax time what good is it to take them any other time?"
I will give my taxes one more try on another day and then gladly switch to another online tax preparer.
Daughter came in to pick up IR and go home to fix supper for one of her teacher friends that had just had a baby.
Hubbie went out to work on his wood pile and I went out to get the chores done. I had some extra work when one of my quails decided to fly past me out the door of their cage. The cat immediately saw the bird on the ground and smelled an extra dinner but luckily the quail flew over the hen fence and I was able to net him and get him safely back inside his cage with his girlfriend .
There was 2/10ths inch of rain in the gauge from the morning rain and the clouds hung around most of the day but the temperature got into the lower 60's.
Winter is going to give us a reminder he is still in charge next week as we get a chance of snow and well below freezing temps.
I did weekly paperwork and got things ready for market tonight. Thankfully I feel some better tonight and can do without the Nyquil.
Thankful for the blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night

PARK PLAY DAY

Up and out on a cloudy cool 32 degree morning. I got chores done and then took RL to pre-school. Last night hubbie and I loaded all the furniture covers and bed covers in the Honda so I could stop on the way home at the laundry if the big machines were available.
All the big load machines were open when I got there so I did the laundry and made it home about 10:15 to hang out all the rubber backed rugs on the clothesline.
Thankful for the nice day to dry them in.
I ate some late breakfast and played with IR who was playing with these sunglasses she found.
We made lunch for the girls and headed out to pick up RL then go to the park to let them play. The temperature is around 60 and the sun is shining so we are taking advantage of it.

They ate a good lunch and then played a little more with some friends they made before we headed home.

These three were seesawing and suddenly they all started loudly singing Jesus Loves Me  and brought a smile to everyone at the parks face.
RL went to sleep on the way home and took a good nap when we got home. IR and I played in the kitchen and playroom so she could sleep. I could tell IR was tried also but she refused to get still enough to take a nap.
After the girls left hubbie and I got chores done and then I spent the night ordering some things we need from the internet and finishing up #2 son's taxes and filing them.
I am definitely getting a head cold with my sinus feeling like they are on fire tonight. Looking forward to a dose of Nyquil and a good night's sleep.

MONDAY AGAIN ??????

Monday morning rolls around once again and it just seems like I was thinking this same thought just yesterday !!!  My oh my how time is flying by right now !!!
This morning I am very very thankful that we still have our power and that there isn't a huge pine tree in our back yard. The wind blew hard all night and is still blowing this morning but with a lot less intensity.
Both girls came into to make sure I was up and getting dressed right after they arrived.
I got chores done while hubbie fed them breakfast and then RL and I headed out to pre-school.
I came straight home and had my breakfast and then got weekly laundry started.
I decided to change out all the furniture covers and bed covers today and IR was doing her best to help carry things around !!
I only got one load of laundry done by the time it was time to go pick up RL. We all went so we could stop for the girls to have lunch.
The Burger King stop today was a bust as neither girl was interested in eating anything and we left shortly after we arrived with the food in bags to come home.
The sun is shining and it is in the mid 50's but the wind is still blowing hard making it too chilly for a park play day.
We came home hoping both girls would take a nap as RL had went to sleep on  the way to pre-school this morning and the teacher had a hard time waking her up and IR only slept about 20 minutes on the ride to pick up RL.
We tried a couple different ways to get them to sleep but nothing worked so hubbie and I took turns eating our lunch and tried to get the girls to eat more of theirs but that wasn't happening either.
Some days IR wants to be like her older cousin RL but today RL want to be like her younger cousin IR and sit in a high chair .
I did a couple more loads of laundry and put away all the Valentine décor.
Hubbie took the girls outside for a little while this afternoon but it was still too cool for me as I feel like I am trying to get a cold. I stayed inside and did more housecleaning.
After both girls were picked up hubbie and I did chores and hubbie sawed the large tree top up and got it out of my chicken lot.
Thankfully nothing else fell in the high winds.
We came inside and watched the news of an impending snow storm that might be coming the first of next week.
#2 son called tonight and said he thinks he has sold his house. He put it on Zillow a couple days ago to see if he would get any action just out of curiosity and last night a couple came from Greenville,SC and looked at it and today they bought it contingent on the selling of their house which went under contract last Friday.
He and Tif have had a rough time this winter getting off that mountain getting to work and they both are ready to get back down closer to their work. Guess we'll wait and see if this works out.
To complete the decade pics for February I found this pic of the old bridge and road over Clear creek that runs by our pasture. I walked this way everyday back then. With the new bridge and road construction this view looks very different now.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and for the love of Jesus Christ.
God Bless and Good Night

BEAUTIFUL DAY, WINDY NIGHT AND 1989 SNOWSTORM

The sunshine streaming through the bedroom window looked so bright this morning. It energized me as I headed out to get the chores done.
All the animals acted like they were so appreciative of the warm sunshine this morning.
The grass is starting to turn green in the pastures and everything looks so bright and fresh after all the rain.
Thankfully we didn't get the heavier rains that were predicted last night and there was only 6/10ths inch additional rain in the gauge this morning.
I had breakfast then put the turkey breast in the pressure pot along with corn on the cob on the stove.
Hubbie made a gallon on tea and we will do the rest when we get home from church.
We prayed for three ladies from our congregation that are headed to the mission field this week during the service this morning.
Back home we fixed dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and candied baby carrots to go with the turkey and corn already cooked.
The kids enjoyed playing and everyone had a nice visit. #1 son's family, Aa's family and #2 son and Tif made it for lunch today.
#2 son drove his new truck in today and seemed really happy with it.

Daughter, son-in-love and IR came by to pick up some more things from the storage shed after lunch and then hubbie went over to their house to change a light fixture and do a couple more things they needed .
I put laundry away and the started chores. The wind is blowing making it scary to be under the large pine trees. I had to get #1 son who came up to the shop to get something for his car to help me get a large limb that fell off one of the chicken lot fences . Thankfully it only hit  fence.
We are expecting the huge leaning pine tree to fall anytime on the power lines but so far it is holding strong.
There was another winter storm named today as Ryan brings more snow to the northeast and makes it's way across the country bringing is who knows what ???
To continue the decade pics back in February 1989 we had snow and the kids #1 son  8 years old, #2 son 6 ears old and daughter 4 years old enjoyed playing in it .

The cattle don't enjoy the snow near as much as the kids. The old barn that my dad built is in the background of some of these pics. We used that old barn until we built a new one.

This is my mom's old 1967 Chevelle that we bought from her to restore but never got around to getting it done.
Snowy farm scenes.....

The wind has started to really blow so I am getting in off here and heading to the bedroom away from all the trees that could fall on the house.
Praying for safety for all the animals and all the folks who have to be out on the roads tonight in these high winds.
God Bless and Good Night.

ANOTHER RAINY SATURDAY MARKET DAY AND 1969 BASKETBALL

As I fought to get to sleep last night I regretted licking that chocolate frosting pan !! It's one of those things you know you're going to regret even when you are doing it but you do it anyway.
The caffeine in chocolate must be high because it is the same as if I drank a cup of coffee right before bedtime.
Anyway I got up this morning with a nagging headache that would plague me most of the morning.
I did chores in the rain again for what seems like the 100th day in a row.
I got ready for market and we had to pass an accident down on the bridge in front of the house. A silver car had hit the guard rail but thankfully no one got hurt.

I had to take time to get my tables all set back up from the leaking rain which is still leaking so I had to shorten my display but we had plenty of room even with daughter's baked things she brought in.
A shelf fell while I was moving things around and hit me in the head so hard it brought tears to my eyes but at least as my head stopped hurting from this my headache from earlier went away also.
We had a pretty good sales day with the constant morning rain and the now colder temps with highs today only in the mid 40's.
Daughter and IR stayed at market most of the morning to help and then left to go do some furniture shopping. Hubbie stayed and helped me get things packed up and get my displays moved back away from the leaking ceiling. Scarily the water is now dripping through the large gas heater that hangs from the ceiling over my table. We removed the freshly washed white tablecloths and put them out of harms way hopefully.
We left market and hubbie came straight home and I made a stop at Ingles to pick up a couple things for tomorrows lunch.
We unloaded then ate the vegetable beef soup from the soup vendor at market and it really hit the spot on this cold rainy afternoon.
We got chores done and I emptied another 1.3inches of rain from the gauge today.
Thankfully the rain has stopped for awhile but is predicted to start again later tonight.
I went through pics tonight searching out the February ---9 pics for my decade series and the first ones I found were more basketball newspaper articles from when I played in high school.

Thankful for the blessings of old memories and for the blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night
