DANCING THE MORNING AWAY

Up early to get the chores done before both "my littles" get here today. The sun was just peeking over the tree tops as I let the hens out of their houses and opened the dog lots.
This is our garden after hubbie got the fall crops in yesterday.

G-son arrived first as his mom needs to be at work at 8am. Evy was here shortly afterward while her mom went to have an extensive ultrasound on her baby.  She showed me the pictures they took of her unborn little boy and I was totally amazed at this modern technology and what it can do.  Good news was that everything is fine with the baby.
G-son and Evy danced the morning away then played very well with each other until Evy got sleepy and wanted a nap.

It is good for both of them to have each other to play with sometime.  Evy was tired after about an hour of playtime and took a nap until mom came after  her.
While she napped I iced the 5 chocolate cakes I made last night for the order.
After they left , g-son and I had lunch.  I had some stir fry and I made g-son a peanut butter/jelly sandwich but he didn't eat it, he just ate another waffle.  He is going through a non eating stage these days, I just hope he doesn't get sick before school starts.
I did some housecleaning and then made the remaining Roma tomatoes left over from yesterday into salsa.
Roma tomatoes make the thickest salsa so I know this will taste very good.
My canning shelves are quickly getting restocked after not having any produce to preserve last summer.

I still have the loaded grape vines in the yard to deal with, but they will have to wait until next week.
Tomorrow is cake baking day around here.
Today's weather was pretty normal for this time of the year, hot and muggy with intermittent clouds all day but no rain.

The "dog days of summer" weather is coming in the seven day forecast, hot with rain chances each day.
Seems impossible that school is starting next Monday, where in the world did this summer go ???
I do have to admit I am looking forward to the slowdown that fall brings along with the cooler weather.
Hubbie went with me tonight to make the cake delivery and we stopped by Lowes to order the storage building we picked out but the man at the desk didn't know how to order it, so I guess I'll hope there is someone there Thursday that knows !!!
Back home we did the evening chores and relaxed for the evening.
Grateful to a loving Lord and all the blessings He sends my way each day.
Good Night and God Bless

Happy to hear that everything is fine with Rebekah's baby. Dog days of summer finally hit us here. Hot , humid and rainy. School doesn't start here until after Labor Day. Happy your shelves are being restocked. Blessings
