PASTA SAUCE CANNING DAY

G-son arrived at 7:30 this morning.  I fixed his breakfast, then headed out to do the morning feeding chores.
It is a beautiful sunny morning for a change.
After breakfast I looked at the box of corn #2 son brought by Sunday afternoon. He said one of his mail route customers gave it to him last week as he delivered their mail. He put some in his freezer but there is a dozen ears left.  I decide to put it in the freezer so Cayenne the horse got a corn shuck snack today and it only took me about 30 minutes to get the 12 ears all ready for the feezer.
The sunny morning was quick lived as the rain started pouring down just before lunch.  It rain over 1/4" in just a few minutes then drizzled awhile.
Rebekah and daughter both got here about the same time and we got started on our pasta sauce making. We had 1 1/2 bushels of tomatoes to get up today.
We worked all afternoon and got 15 quarts and 10 half pints of sauce plus 4 quarts of tomato juice canned.  Daughter wants her sauce in the half pint jars so it is a single serving for her.
It turned out really pretty and thick.  We had some for supper over spaghetti squash and chicken breast  that Rebekah brought over, it was really delicious !!   Good job girls !!!!

I had a pretty little helper at chore time, Evy loves to feed the chickens and watch them peck the corn from the ground. She only gives them a couple kernels at a time and thinks it's funny to watch them fight for it !!  I have no idea what she saw up there in this pic ??

She is going to be a little farm girl for sure.
We all ate a delicious supper, even #1 son and d-in-love came up and ate with us.
A very accomplished feeling tonight after a successful day of food preserving.
I had to call AT&T again tonight to get my internet back on. Evidently something has happened to my router and I had to by-pass it.  It is an old one and I may just need a new one. They told me how to check it out online. I have noticed in the last week that my smart phone wasn't connecting to my network and today when g-son wanted to play games on my laptop it wouldn't work either on the network.
Thanking God tonight for a very blessed day and the strength He gives me each day.
Good Night and God Bless.

All that tomato sauce sure looks good. I can't remember the last time I had home made sauce. It has to be over 45 years ago. You all were busy little girls. Evy gets cuter with each picture you post. Blessings
