Woke to the sound of rain on the metal roof, making me want to just snuggle deeper under the warm covers. But I remembered all the hungry animals waiting for their breakfast and gave that idea up.
After sloshing through chores and having breakfast I started the weeks laundry.
The rain stopped for a while and hubbie did some small jobs outside.
We had lunch then decided to give Bernie and Dolly haircuts and baths so I could get all the wet towels washed.
Dolly was first and she was pretty good , then it was Bernie's turn. He is okay but is harder to hold because of his bigger size and strength. He isn't happy about having the hair cut under his chin.
This task doesn't take too long but it really works on my back muscles as I sit and cut and hold both dogs.
I finished 3 loads of laundry between catching up on finding my April decade photos.
The earliest April happening I found was the death of my paternal grandmother, Martha Louise Wilkie Pryor, who passed away on April 23, 1935 at the age of 76. She had 13 children, loosing some at very young ages. I have always thought she looked older than her years and I am sure the loss of babies caused many of those lines on her beautiful face. I love this picture of her with the mountains she loved and spent her entire life in as the back drop. R.I.P grandmother.
The weather was really dreary and cool, mid 50's, all day dropping only 3/10ths inch of rain by chore time but heavier rain is predicted for tonight as our area is under a flood watch for tomorrow.
Another Curb Market member lost her battle with lung disease and passed on last week.
This is a terrible picture but the only one I could find of Doris. She has been on oxygen for years so she hasn't been involved lately like she has always been in the past . She was always one of the helpers at all our old timey days. This pic was taken in 2006 when her mother was still alive and they were celebrating the birth of the 5th generation. Doris was a very loving grandmother and great grandmother and bought many of my cakes for those kids. R.I.P. Doris.
As this day comes to an end I am as always grateful for all the blessings God sent my way today and for His grace as I strive to be the person He wants me to be.
Good Night and God Bless.

Doggy haircutting and bath day sounds like fun - haha. I'll bet you are glad that chore is over. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. A very dear friend of mine has been battling cancer for over a year now and I am beginning to think she will loose the fight. I pray every day for her but things just seem to go from bad to worse. She is a good God fearing woman and I know it is her faith that keeps her going. However, her life and ours as well are in God's hands. Blessings
