I got chores done and then had breakfast.
Since the rain is supposed to move in after lunch we took hubbie's truck and went to Southern States to pick up feed, fertilizer and a bale of straw for my hen nest.
On the way there I stopped in the post office and mailed the Curb Market cookbook to the publisher in Tennessee . They were not able to find the old book they copied for us back in 2001 so they are having to make it like a new book.
We got back from the feed store just in time to pick up g-daughter RL to stay with us while her brother went to the dentist for a check-up.
She fed the chickens while we put the feed away then wanted to go on a long ride before we stopped at the barn to unload the other things. So we drove around the circle drive again on the way to the barn.
After lunch I started baking and she wanted to watch !!
We baked 6 caramel, 1 chocolate, 3 pound , 1 blackberry wine and 1 pan of brownies.
D-in-love picked up RL to hopefully get an afternoon nap in. G-son had a great check-up and no cavities.
After they all left hubbie and I gave the house a good cleaning since we didn't have time last week to do any cleaning we felt like this week was a must.
It has rained lightly off and on all evening but the heavier rain is due overnight and tomorrow with snow tomorrow evening !!!
After chores I iced cakes and got things ready for market.
Poor Bernie is failing fast and we are not expecting him to make it through the night. We are just keeping him comfortable and hoping he doesn't linger. He has cheated death for 3 years after the vet first found his very enlarged heart and gave him at the most 6 months to live. All the meds he has been on all this time have definitely effected his quality of life and if I had it to do over again I'd have to think very seriously about going this route again with a pet.
