RETURN OF WINTER MONDAY

Had a rude awakening this morning when I opened the door for the first time as the 33 degree winds were pretty brutal and wintry feeling for sure.
Several of the schools in the counties just north of us had delays and icy roads.
It was blowing a few flakes of snow here but nothing to impede anything.
I got chores done then took RL to pre-school. Today is spring picture day and her special sleeveless dress got replaced by a flowered shirt and a sweater but she still looked cute as a button and promised to smile this time.
I came home to have my breakfast and feed IR.
IR took her morning nap while I got laundry started and hubbie carried some more firewood in.
Seems funny to be keeping a fire in the wood stove all day in the middle of April but the temp is only getting in the upper 40's today with a brisk wind.
I went to pick up RL alone as we didn't really want to get IR out in the cold.
RL had a great day and did manage a smile for her picture.
She went to sleep quickly as we started home.
Hubbie carried her inside and she slept on the couch for about 1 1/2 hours. While she slept hubbie, IR and I had lunch and I did more laundry.
When she woke up IR was ready to play. I have to laugh each time IR reaches for RL and tries to hang on to her because that is exactly how RL used to do BB when he was here and she was about the age of IR.  Guess it's pay back time !!!!
RL and IR  ......
RL and BB.......
When daughter came in from work she fed IR and then her and hubbie left to meet #1 son over at her property to get her house and proposed septic field laid out for the inspector who is coming  Friday.
The septic field needs to be cleared so there is a lot of work to do this week ! Since she doesn't own the land yet and doesn't want to buy it until she is sure it will perk and the layout will work all the clearing will have to be done by hand.
While they were over there IR napped and I finished folding the last load of laundry and then watched the news.
This April's weather is setting records across the country for snowfall amounts and rainfall amounts as another system gears up to head across the country as the one that is causing our cold weather and snow for the north exits the coast.
The snow in our area is getting closer and closer to our area this evening and the wind has really gotten stronger this evening.

This is the cloud line at sunset this evening but these clouds don't have rain they have snow !!
After daughter took IR home hubbie and I did chores and then hunkered down with the wood stove fire going this evening to relax  as the thermometer is already at 31 degrees at 10:00this evening.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and asking for God's guidance for daughter and son-in-love as they begin this next season of their lives by building a new home.
Praying that the wind doesn't do any damage to any folks tonight and that the power stays on.
God Bless and Good Night

Hope you don't get all the snow I have been getting. We had a fizzing rain/snow mix topped off with snow. More is expected tomorrow. What ever happened to Spring. Thanking God that when my hubby fell on the ice he didn't get hurt - just sore. RL looks so cute in her picture. Blessings
