A JOYOUS CHRISTMAS EVE 2013

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE 2013 TO EVERYONE !!

After a long Nyquil induced slumber I am ready to hit this Christmas Eve.
After chores and breakfast hubbie and I decided to make our traditional shopping/looking trip to the mall. I like this shopping trip as we have nothing particular to buy, except some food items for tonight's dinner, so we just wander through the stores looking at the deals on things the stores need to sell before Christmas is over.
I noticed their wasn't any crowds in the mall or in any of the stores we stopped in and wondered what in the world they would do with all the merchandise they had left over. I see some hefty after Christmas sales !!!  Today the prices weren't discounted that much.
We made it home for lunch.  After a short rest it was time to start cooking for tonight's family dinner.
We cooked a smoked turkey to go with sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, green beans, corn and a seven layer salad. D-in-love made a corn casserole , Rebekah made mac and cheese , daughter made a pumpkin roll and I made one of my coconut cakes for dessert.
But first before dinner was our favorite church service, the Candlelight service.
We arrived a little late and sat in the balcony. G-son was happy to be in charge of his own candle.
D-in-love and the musicians played along with all the old Christmas carols as the congregation sang. a very enjoyable time was had by all.
Back home around 7:00 we put the finishing touches on a marvelous Christmas eve dinner.
This little lady was so happy, at only 9 months old she could sense the excitement in the air. Love those little white teeth !!!
As soon as the eating was over it was the magical time !!  Time to open all those brightly colored packages.
Wow it really looked like Santa's workshop in our living room tonight.
Little Evy loved the bright paper and was in awe of all the new toys !!

G-son got more presents than he knew what to do with as usual.

Evy decided to check out g-son's toys to see if his were more interesting than hers. At one time she was playing with his toys and he was playing with hers so they were sharing very well.

Loved the laughter and fun of this special evening with all these special people !!!

And I got some great gifts also and love every thing I got, thank you to all !!

The evening ended around 10:30 so the kids could get tucked in their beds to await the arrival of old St. Nick !!
As hubbie and I gathered up all the paper and put away the food a sadness came over me that all this merriment was over for another whole year.
Wishing all my blogger friends a very special Christmas this year.
Good Night and God Bless.
