GREEN BEAN CANNING BEGINS

G-son was here at 7am today and after getting him his breakfast I decided to begin my day earlier also.
After chores and breakfast I took a nice long walk around the farm. Things are surprisingly still pretty green even with the small amount of rainfall we have had.
I came back inside to have a cup of green tea and read my devotions for the day.
G-son was watching TV and playing a game on his I-pad at the same time ???
I began my green bean canning for the season today.  The beans are rubbery from lack of moisture but they will be fine canned.
They look really good in the jars.
I canned a total of 21 quarts today, more than I expected from the amount of beans I picked but that is a good start in case we remain dry.
By the looks of this 7-day forecast we are going to be lucky if we get any rain.
Daughter came by to pick up g-son just before lunch to take him swimming. He is such a lucky little boy to have an aunt like daughter !!!!
When I finished my canning I cleaned the bathrooms for my housework for the day. I sat outside to relax just for a few minutes as the heat and humidity of the day were suffocating out there.
Re brought the kids over at the same time daughter and g-son got back from their swimming. Re needed a day of rest after their long 11 1/5 hour trip home from north western Ohio yesterday where they had been visiting Re's mom and dad.
These two took up right where they left off the last time they saw each other.
After a short visit they all went home and then D-in-love came after g-son. She is working 1/2 day tomorrow but other g-ma is keeping g-son.
I did chores , had supper and hubbie and I ended the day relaxing out in the covered patio with a piece of very good watermelon, yum !!
Thanking God for all the blessings of this day and striving to glorify Him in all that I do.
Good Night and God Bless.

I remember all the canning my mother used to do. However, much of ours took place later in the summer as the growing season here in WI is much shorter than yours. Love the canned veggies in winter. Blessings
