STORMS A BREWIN !!!!

G-son was a little whiny this morning but showed no signs of the sinus drainage and fever of the last couple days.  As we were on our way to school he asked me what I did in the old days during summer break. Guess I never thought of my childhood as the old days !!!!!
I made a trip to Ingles for some groceries before I came home.  After chores and breakfast I took a nice long walk. The sun is shining brightly this morning and at 10 am it is already pretty steamy hot.
I saw my first Garter snake this morning as I almost stepped on him before he scurried under a piece of wood behind the garden.  To quick to get a picture but I'm glad I didn't step on him !
I gathered spinach before I came inside for my lunch salad.  It is so nice to have fresh garden produce to eat now.
I baked 6 caramel, 2 chcocolate, 5 pound and 2 blackberry wine cakes this morning before taking a lunch break.
After my baking was finished I watered my inside plants and took a nice 30 minute break to soak up some warm sunshine before it was time to head over to school to pick up g-son.
On days like today I sure hope the hours pass as fast for g-son at school as they do for me here at home.
After we got home I fixed him some bacon and he went to work on his new lego projects again.
I did some office work, figuring April's totals and was shocked to see my expense percent rise more than 10% on my baked goods.  That's what the high price of eggs and milk will do to your bottom line. I need to raise my prices but am afraid to right now with the downturn in business.  I will ride out May and see what happens at the end of it before making a definite decision.
Rebekah and Evy came over for a visit and #1 son came in to pick up g-son so we all had a nice visit while the kids played.
After they all left I did evening chores a bit early because of the threatening skies.

The road crew guys believe the weathermen that say there is heavy rains coming overnight and tomorrow as they have worked in a fevered pitch this afternoon putting silt fencing, ditching and spraying the bare dirt they have been hauling in for a couple weeks to keep it from washing away.
I iced cakes tonight and watched Survivor on TV.
No rain for us yet but it looks like it is knocking on the door at 11:00 tonight and I can hear distant thunder.
Our entire area is under a flood watch for up to 6 inches of rain in some areas.  Hopefully we won't be under one of those storms. We need rain badly but not all at once !
Guess we'll see what the rest of the night and morning brings.
I can rest in the comfort that God is in control.
Good Night and God Bless.
