FREEZE WARNING

Woke to a surprisingly warmer morning than predicted at 38 degrees. But that wind is still whipping making it feel much colder.
After chores I was off to market.  The morning started off really slowly but sales were pretty good after a slow start. It was cold in the market today with the heaters turned off for season already.
I left at 2:00 and stopped by Ingles to pick up a few things and when I saw this thermometer on the side of the road I knew why market felt so cold all day. Yikes !!, 39 degrees at 2:00 in the afternoon on April 9th !!!!
I also made a stop at Aldi to pick up baking supplies for Wednesday's baking. I have to get into a new 2 shopping day schedule now.
Hubbie helped me unload when I got home and then I crashed on the couch with my 4-legged kids to snuggle and finally get warm for the first time today.
After watching the news I did chores and put some coverings on some of my most tender plants. At the front porch I have Columbine and Lavender already coming back in all these barrel planters.
And in the back this dish pan filled with Chives and Thyme got a cover for some extra warmth.

The predictions for lows tonight are not looking good at all for the fruit farmers around the area.
The entire area is under the freeze warning and it extends down into South Carolina where all the peaches and strawberry growers are.
This is an unusual amount of snow cover for this date for sure !!

Maybe they will miss the temps as much tonight as they did last night but with the wind dyeing down and the chill that is in the air tonight that isn't likely. At 10:15 it is 40 degrees ! This will be a sleepless night for many of our farmer friends who depend on their fruit crops for income. I pray that they are spared tonight and for the remainder of the spring any freeze damage.
Thanking God for all my blessings today and for the grace He sends each day.
God Bless and Good Night.

Hi, Hope you missed the freeze the past couple of nights. We had a freeze warning out here for both nights --but luckily, we didn't have any problems. There's one more night (Tuesday I think) when it gets back down into the 30's ---and hopefully, that is ALL for this winter season. I'm so ready for spring.

I know you are getting excited about the upcoming wedding. I always enjoy reading about your grandchildren --and how fast they are growing...

Hugs,
Betsy
