SNOW MAKES TOWN UNRECOGNIZABLE

Whew !! I'm caught up with my blog and back on the correct day at last. I had the last 4 days typed onto word documents on my computer so all I had to do was re-copy and add pictures. Now all I have to do is catch up reading your blogs which will start tomorrow night hopefully.

This morning the sun was shining early but the temperature was 15 ,brrrrrr. The snow has become a hard slick ice rink everywhere we walk.It is very challenging to keep from falling.Hubbie already fell yesterday and cut his knee after he slid on something under the snow, thankfully with all the layers he had on it was a small cut.
I ran into some church members today in Ingles and he had fallen this morning and broke his arm.
After chores I did paperwork, getting ready to run the weekly errands.
After lunch I ventured out,our driveway still has a lot of slick snow on it but I didn't have any trouble with my front wheel drive van.
As I drove through town I looked at the piles of snow and thought this doesn't even look like our sunny south town any more. It was almost as if I were in one of the northern towns.

Most parking lots were scraped but were covered with black ice.

The market manager called tonight saying market would not open Saturday and I figured as much after I took this picture of it today from the bank across the street.
I went rug shopping for the sunroom, found some really nice ones but they will have to order the round one and I can't get the sale price so I think I'll look around a bit first.
G-son had his flu shot today so I stopped and picked up some Tylenol on the way home.
We gave him some as soon as I got here and he was fine ,didn't even act like he was sore at all.
All the kids and g-son went sledding tonight at their cousin's house but it was too cold to stay outside long.
Hubbie and I watched TV and relaxed tonight, I should be finishing the kitchen cleaning but I think it will wait.
We watched Carolina B-ball game tonight, they won after being behind the whole game.
I stopped by Verizon to complain about my phone shutting off on it's on and they are sending me a new one tomorrow. Now that's the kind of service I like !!
The temperature got above freezing today by a couple degrees and this sheet of ice and snow is hanging precariously off the roof.
The sunset tonight was a glowing beauty, those mountains actually had that glowing outline.Must have been reflecting off the snow.Click on the picture to get the full effect.
Things are starting to get back to normal finally ,it's funny how snowfall gets everything out of routine.
Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the upper 30's but tonight is supposed to be a record breaking cold one and it is already 14 degrees at 11:30 so even a sunny upper 30's day isn't going to melt much.
Thankful to the Lord tonight for blessings I get everyday that I don't deserve.
Good Night and God Bless.

Hi Marilyn, I hope our community can get back to normal next week also. I read that we are running out of salt to put on the roads if we get alot more snow. I also read that our schools are OUT of snow days --and will probably lose their spring break. I think they have only been to school about 10 days total since Dec. 1st.

We luckily didn't get all of the ice which you got--but we sure did get the snow --which is still with us. We did get out today to get some groceries and run some errands. The main roads were good and the back roads were fair.. It was nice to get out though.

Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
